Frequently asked questions
Medical problems requiring medical intervention during a flight are rare, but a medical emergency on board can sometimes occur. Our crew is trained to intervene. However, the assistance of a doctor on board provides undeniable additional support. Being part of the Air France and KLM Community of Doctors on Board means that you will be directly identifiable by our cabin crew, who will discreetly solicit your help if a medical emergency arises during your flight. As a thank you and to express our appreciation for your commitment to our program, we will credit 6,000 Miles to your Flying Blue account once your membership is confirmed. In addition, if you intervene medically on board, Miles will be offered to you.
If a medical event occurs during the flight, instead of a general call in the cabin, the crew will directly solicit a doctor identified as a member of the Air France community of doctors. In all cases, presentation of a professional card will be required by the crew.
Experience in emergency medicine or general medicine is an additional asset for dealing with the diversity of emergency situations that may arise. However, all specialties can be useful in addressing a medical emergency in flight.
You can join, regardless of your place of residence or nationality, if you speak French or English. You simply need to provide a copy of your diploma or professional card. In the absence of these documents, we will unfortunately not be able to validate your enrolment in the program.

In cases of emergency medical intervention on board, you are covered by liability insurance taken out by Air France in addition to your personal professional insurance.
